The LBLD motor and Simple Pump Solar Kit are discontinued for new orders. Simple Pump stopped selling them on March 31, 2026. If you already own one, nothing changes: parts, service, and warranty continue through the end of 2036. See LBLD owner support.
Setting up automated or solar pumping now? The current path is the Inline Manual-Solar Well Pump System. It pairs a WORKHORSE Narrow Series solar submersible with your Simple Pump using the Inline Dual-Pump Valve Assembly.
Yes, the LBLD motor worked with solar power through the Simple Pump Solar Kit. That kit is now discontinued for new orders, and the details below are for owners who already have it.
Simple Pump Solar Kit (Discontinued)
The Simple Pump Solar Kit included everything needed for solar-powered water pumping:
- 740 watts of solar panels (two 370-watt monocrystalline panels)
- MPPT charge controller for efficient battery charging
- 12V or 24V motor options
- 100MPH wind-rated panel mounting hardware
- Weather-resistant enclosure
Battery System Required
Simple Pump solar systems require batteries. Direct solar connection (without batteries) is not a supported configuration.
The battery system provides:
- Consistent power delivery to the motor
- Pumping capability day or night
- Power buffering during cloudy conditions
- Protection for the motor from voltage fluctuations
Note: Batteries are customer-provided and not included in the solar kit.
Motor Voltage Options
- 24V Motor System: Higher lift capacity (up to 225 ft), requires two 12V batteries in series
- 12V Motor System: Up to 200 ft lift, works with single deep-cycle battery
Lift Capacity with Solar
Motor-driven systems (including solar) have the same lift limits as standard motorized pumps:
| Cylinder | 24V Motor | 12V Motor |
|---|---|---|
| 100CA | 225 ft | 200 ft |
| 125CA | 150 ft | 125 ft |
| 200CA | 60 ft | 50 ft |
Key Features
- Programmable timer included for automated tank filling
- Manual backup capability - convert to hand pumping if needed
- Complete off-grid solution for water independence
- Manufacturer warranty on solar components
Existing Motor + Solar
If you already have a Simple Pump motor, you can add solar power:
- Match your existing motor voltage (12V or 24V)
- Add appropriate solar panels and charge controller
- Include battery bank for your water needs
