"7-inch" casing can mean two different things:
Standard 7" ID Casing
- Inside diameter: 7"
- Outside diameter: 7.625"

7" OD Casing
- Outside diameter: 7"
- Inside diameter: approximately 6.25"
- Less common, but important to identify
Why This Matters
Well caps must match the outside diameter of your casing:
- Standard 7" ID casing → needs 7.625" OD cap
- 7" OD casing → needs different cap configuration
