SIMPLE PUMP FITS IN THE GREAT MAJORITY OF WELLS

The Simple Pump will fit in MOST WELLS alongside an already installed submersible or alone.
It needs just 1.8″ diameter clearance. (If you are using the 100CA cylinder, 1.6″ clearance will be enough.)
It will also fit in a 2” casing alone.

The following chart shows conditions for Simple Pump installation, alongside a submersible — its most common use.

WELL ID CONDITIONS
4″ or 4.5″

Will install in THE MAJORITY OF 4″ or 4.5″ wells.
The 125L pump needs 1.8″ clearance. The 100L needs 1.6″ clearance. This will be more likely if:

  1. Butt couplers on submersible drop pipe are cylindrical stainless steel, not the more bulky galvanized or brass.
  2. Submersible drop pipe is the standard 1-1/4″ (ID).

The Simple Pump must be set at least ten feet above the submersible.

If pitless
– Some pitlesses will be okay, if saddle type (like a Merrill 50). The pitless body can be taken out of the saddle and held to one side while the Simple Pump is installed… then put back.
– The top section of casing may need to be replaced by a 6″ sleeve to give clearance past a pitless.

5″
With submersible exiting through well cap.

Will install in THE MAJORITY OF 5″ wells.

The 5gpm pump needs 1.8″ clearance. The 3gpm needs 1.6″ clearance. This will be more likely if the submersible drop pipe is the standard 1-1/4″ (ID).

The Simple Pump must be set at least ten feet above the submersible.

If pitless – Clearance past the pitless must also be specifically checked. Nearly all, in our experience, will be okay without modification.

6”, 6.25″, 7”, 8”

ALMOST ALL 6, 6.25, 7 and 8 inch wells are good for installation alongside a submersible.

Exceptions (rare): If you have a type of pitless that is unusually bulky and blocks the casing, such as these:

For Wider Dug or Bored Wells E.g. a dug well, three feet wide with a liner and concrete, wood or metal lid. A hole would be drilled in the lid and our adaptor used with appropriate bolts.
