HOW TO FIND OUT OR MEASURE YOUR WELL SPECS

Some critical specs would be in your well report. Some details you will need to measure or just decide.

  • If you don’t have a well report, you may be able to get a copy from your state government.
  • Or your well company should have records.
  • Or you may need your well company to come and do a current measurement. If you are going to have them do the installation, checking your specs would be part of their job.
  • IF you know how to take your well cap off safely and IF your well is not very deep, you may be able to measure the water level and well depth yourself. Use a line plus weight plus float for water level, and a line plus weight for well depth. (The deeper the well, the more chance their is of getting the line tangled in the submersible wiring.)

For the most vital spec – the water level – another option is to buy or rent the ENO Well Watch from us. This is especially useful to keep an ongoing eye on your water level, if it tends to fluctuate appreciably, or if there is a drought.

If you don’t know the information and don’t have a well company, we can check if there is a Simple Pump dealer nearby. Send us the name of the nearest town to your location. Just ONE town, however small. No zip or county.

“DO YOU HAVE A DISCOUNT IF PEOPLE ARE BUYING TOGETHER?”

Yes — Our “Family and Friends Discount”.
If you know someone else who would like to order a Simple Pump at the same time as you, each of you will receive a 10% discount. Participants can be local or across the country. Let us know before ordering if you would like more information.

“CAN I BUY SPARE PARTS?”

Yes.
It is unlikely you’ll ever need spare parts, and there is a five-year warranty on the hand pump. But some people like to have a higher level of readiness with a stock of key spare parts. Let us know and we can add an appropriate package. Cost would be somewhere around $100, depending on your pump configuration.

“HOW MANY DROP PIPES/ROD UNITS ARE ENOUGH?”

The standard position (set) for the Simple Pump is 35 to 40 feet below water. This will give you a substantial safety margin while striking a reasonable balance between security and cost. If you would like an even greater safety margin, we can add however many additional units you’d like.

THE HEAVY-DUTY HANDLE

The standard handle already is outstanding compared to any other hand pump, with its replaceable, graphite-impregnated bronze bushings at pivot points. Other pumps just have a hole drilled through metal with a bolt stuck through.
Simple Pump also offers the heavy-duty handle (originally developed for use by a whole village in developing nations). Each part is much thicker, and the critical pivot points have unique, replaceable roller bearings. See: https://www.simplepump.com/support/questions/handles/

“HOW CAN I GIVE YOU MY CASING DIAMETER WHEN I CAN’T REMOVE THE WELL CAP?”

Sometimes, in this circumstance, people measure the well cap.  But the size of the well cap is not actually a reliable indication of casing size. Measure the circumference of the CASING just below the well cap. Use a cloth-type tape for accuracy… not a metal tape. Send us that circumference figure in your quote query.

“IS THERE A TAX CREDIT FOR THE MOTOR SYSTEM?”

For a solar system, there is a “renewable energy tax credit”. There is a gradual step-down in credit value.
30% for systems placed in service by 12/31/2019
26% for systems placed in service after 12/31/2019 and before 01/01/2021
22% for systems placed in service after 12/31/2020 and before 01/01/2022
