The Simple Pump will fit in MOST WELLS alongside an already installed submersible or alone. It needs just 1-3/4" diameter clearance. (If using the 100CA cylinder, 1.6" clearance will be enough.)
It will also fit in a 2” casing alone.
The following chart shows conditions for Simple Pump installation, alongside a submersible -- its most common use.

CONDITIONS

2"

Standalone installation.
|
|
4", 4.5"
With submersible exiting through well cap.
|
Will install in THE MAJORITY OF such wells. The 125 configuration (5gpm) needs 1.75" clearance. The 100 configuration (3gpm) needs 1.6" clearance. This clearance will be more likely if:
- Butt couplers on submersible drop pipe are the cylindrical stainless steel type, not the more bulky galvanized or brass.
- Submersible discharge is larger than the standard 1-1/4" (ID) pipe.
The Simple Pump must be set at least ten feet above the submersible.

4", 4.5"
With submersible exiting through pitless adaptor.

Clearance past the pitless must also be specifically checked.

6”, 6.25", 7”, 8”
|
ALMOST ALL 6, 6.25, 7 and 8 inch wells are good for installation alongside a submersible.
Limit: If you have a particular rare kind of pitless installed that is unusually bulky. (See right.)

For Wider Dug Wells
|
E.g. a dug well, three feet wide with a liner and concrete, wood or metal lid. A hole would be drilled in the lid and our adaptor used with appropriate bolts. A well cap is then mounted to the adaptor and the pump installed.
See adaptor here... http://www.simplepump.com/OUR-PUMPS/Adapter.html.
